QA Testing and Compliance
Our internal testing procedures are designed to ensure that every service we provide meets not only our high standards but also those of our industry and the specific requirements of our clients. We provide this service in house and on site, for our own work and independent testing.
Warranties and Specifications
We would be happy to provide manufacturer warranties and supplier Specifications for our protective coating systems. Please get in touch about any specific project requirements you have.
Looking Ahead: ISO9001
By Q4 2024 we intend to have obtained our ISO9001 Certification. We have been busy implementing our controls and auditing procedures across our whole team to make sure the result you get from us the first time is the one you get every time.
QA Documentation
We provide full testing documentation and Internal Testing Procedures to ensure our service aligns with what was requested. Our QA templates are avaliable at request.
Looking Ahead: NACE Accreditation
As part of our ongoing commitment to professional development, we are on track to obtaining NACE accreditation for two of our team November 2024
Surface Profile (Microns)
The texture of the surface after blasting or cleaning, quantified by the distance between the peaks and valleys. A proper surface profile is crucial for effective coating adhesion. It ensures that the paint or coating locks effectively onto the surface, which enhances longevity and protection.
Environmental Conditions
: Ambient temperature and humidity levels during the
application process. Environmental conditions
significantly impact the curing process of coatings. By controlling and
recording these conditions, we ensure optimal application and curing, which are
vital for achieving the desired durability and effectiveness of the coating.
Dry Film Thickness (DFT)
The thickness of the coating layer after it has dried. Measuring the dry film thickness is essential to ensure that the coating has been applied to the specifications required by the project. This measurement helps in confirming uniformity and achieving the expected performance characteristics like corrosion resistance and longevity.
Salt Contamination
The presence and concentration of soluble salts on the surface prior to coating. Salt residues can lead to coating failures such as blistering and underfilm corrosion. Testing for salt contamination is essential to ensure the long-term integrity and adherence of the coating system.
Adhesion Testing
The bond strength between the coating and the substrate. Adhesion tests are critical for assessing the quality and longevity of the coating. They help to predict the performance of the coating under stress and during its service life, ensuring it remains bonded to the substrate and functions as intended.
Spark
Test
A Spark test or Holiday detection test detects the presence of pinholes, voids, or thin spots in non-conductive coatings. The spark test helps in identifying any discontinuities or breaches in the coating that could expose the substrate to the environment, leading to
